Signs You Need Brake Service
⚠ Warning Signs
- Squealing or grinding noise
High-pitched squeal means pads are worn, grinding means metal-on-metal damage - Vibration when braking
Warped rotors cause pulsing feeling in brake pedal or steering wheel - Soft or spongy brake pedal
Air in brake lines or low brake fluid level - Car pulls to one side
Uneven brake pad wear or stuck caliper - Brake warning light on
Dashboard light indicates brake system issue - Burning smell
Overheated brakes or dragging brake caliper
✓ Maintenance Schedule
- Every 25,000-70,000 miles
Brake pad lifespan varies by driving style and conditions - Annual brake inspection
Check thickness, rotor condition, fluid level - Brake fluid every 2-3 years
Flush and replace to maintain performance - Before long road trips
Ensure brakes are in top condition for safety - After 50,000 miles
Consider full brake system inspection - At first sign of trouble
Don't wait - brake problems get worse quickly
Our Brake Services
Brake Pad Replacement
Replace worn brake pads with quality parts. Includes cleaning, hardware replacement, and caliper lubrication. We use ceramic, semi-metallic, or OEM pads based on your preference and budget.
Most common service. Typically needed every 30,000-50,000 miles.
Rotor Resurfacing & Replacement
We measure rotor thickness and check for warping. If within spec, we can resurface (machine) them to restore smooth braking. If too thin or damaged, we replace with new rotors.
Prevents vibration and ensures even pad contact. Often done with pad replacement.
Brake Fluid Flush
Remove old contaminated brake fluid and replace with fresh DOT-rated fluid. Maintains proper brake pressure and prevents internal corrosion of brake components.
Recommended every 2-3 years. Critical for brake system health.
Caliper Service & Replacement
Inspect, clean, and lubricate brake calipers. Replace if seized, leaking, or damaged. Ensures even brake pad wear and proper braking force distribution.
Usually lasts 75,000+ miles. Replace if damaged or severely corroded.
Complete Brake Inspection
Comprehensive check of entire brake system: pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, fluid level, and condition. We measure pad thickness and rotor specs, then provide detailed report.
Free with any service. Recommended annually or if you notice any issues.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I replace my brake pads?
▼
Most brake pads last 25,000-70,000 miles depending on driving style, vehicle type, and pad material. City driving wears brakes faster than highway. We recommend annual inspections to monitor wear.
Do I need to replace all 4 brakes at once?
▼
No, you replace brakes per axle (front pair or rear pair). Front brakes typically wear faster and may need replacement more often. We'll inspect all four and tell you what's actually needed.
Can you do brake service at my location?
▼
Brake service is only available at our shop location due to the specialized equipment and safety requirements. We need hydraulic lifts and proper tools to safely service your brakes. Visit us at 905 SE 9th Terrace F, Cape Coral.
What's the difference between ceramic and metallic brake pads?
▼
Ceramic pads are quieter, produce less dust, and last longer but cost more. Semi-metallic pads are more affordable, provide better cold-weather performance, but can be noisier and create more dust. We'll recommend based on your vehicle and budget.
How long does brake service take?
▼
Brake pad replacement on one axle typically takes 1-2 hours. If rotors need resurfacing or replacement, add 30-60 minutes. Complete 4-wheel brake job can take 3-4 hours.
Do you offer a warranty on brake work?
▼
Yes, we provide a 30-day warranty on all brake labor. Parts come with manufacturer warranties that vary by brand (typically 12-36 months).
